Willoughby Scott BScN, MSc, BFA
I work full-time as an artist in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. After a ten
year career as a nurse and nurse educator I began pursuing art and took
many fabric art and design classes from well known North American teachers.
I began exhibiting textile art in 1990 and have participated in many national
and international exhibitions. I have won several awards for color, design
and workmanship and my works have appeared in many national and international
publications.
After establishing myself as a textile artist, I completed a Bachelor
of Fine Arts degree in Art and Design at the University of Alberta (2001)
where the focus of study was on acrylic and oil painting, drawing, figurative
clay sculpture and art history.
I continue to regularly exhibit my multi-media art works and these can
be found in private and corporate collections in Canada and the US. I
frequently teach design classes and coach busy professionals searching
for greater work-life balance through art practice. I also judge fibre
art exhibitions.
